1. Scope and who we are
This policy explains how Maxibern collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you visit this website, submit an enquiry, communicate with us, subscribe to updates or engage us for services.
For the purposes of Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), Maxibern acts as the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our direct business relationships.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide may include:
- Name, email address, telephone number and organisation.
- Service interests, preferred contact time and project details.
- Messages, attachments and correspondence sent by form, email, telephone, WhatsApp or another channel.
- Marketing preferences and newsletter subscription details.
- Contract, billing, support and service-delivery records where you become a client.
Our hosting and security systems may automatically record limited technical data, including IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring page, error reports and security logs. If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics 4 or Meta Pixel may also process device, browser, page, referral and interaction information for measurement and campaign reporting.
3. How and why we use information
We process information only for a lawful, specific and fair purpose. Uses include responding to enquiries; preparing proposals and delivering services; providing support; operating and securing the website; keeping business and compliance records; sending consented communications; and preventing fraud or misuse.
You may unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Necessary service or transactional messages may still be sent.
4. Communications, external services and providers
WhatsApp Business and Meta
When you select a WhatsApp link, you leave this website and interact with WhatsApp, a Meta service. WhatsApp may process your phone number, profile information, message content, device information and communication metadata under its own terms and privacy policy. Maxibern receives what you choose to send and uses it to respond to enquiries, discuss services and provide support. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, health information or other highly sensitive data through WhatsApp.
SendPulse
Website enquiry details are routed through SendPulse so our team can receive and respond to requests. SendPulse processes submitted contact and project information on our behalf for this purpose.
Email and telephone
If you email or call us, the relevant telecommunications, email and infrastructure providers process routing, account and message data needed to deliver the communication.
Hosting, media and security
Hosting and infrastructure providers process website requests and technical logs to deliver and protect the service. Pages may retrieve media from Maxibern’s servers and external sources such as Unsplash and Coverr; those providers may receive technical request data, including IP address and browser information, when media loads.
Embedded article content
Articles may include third-party content from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest or another provider. An embed can allow that provider to receive technical data and apply its own cookies or tracking according to its privacy practices, even without active interaction.
We do not sell personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with providers, advisers, authorities or other parties to operate the service, fulfil an agreement, comply with law or protect rights and security.
5. International processing
WhatsApp/Meta, SendPulse, hosting, media, email and embedded-content providers may process data outside Ghana. Where an international transfer is necessary, we take reasonable steps to select reputable providers, limit the information involved and apply contractual or other appropriate safeguards as required.
6. Security and retention
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards against accidental loss, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No online service is completely risk-free.
We retain information only as long as necessary for the stated purpose, client support, legitimate business records and applicable legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are reviewed periodically and removed when no longer useful or required. Information is then deleted, anonymised or securely disposed of.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, restriction, deletion or information about the purpose, source and recipients of your data. You may object to direct marketing and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
We may verify your identity before acting. You may also raise a complaint with Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
9. Children’s information
This website and our commercial services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal information through this website without appropriate authority or consent.
10. External links and policy changes
Third-party websites and services control their own privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting information. We may update this policy when our services, providers, technology or legal obligations change. The new version will appear here with a revised date.
